My pick - blue and white stripe caftan over red cropped chinos and my Carla Rockmore crisp broadcloth blouse! Collar popped... with a little polite attitude :-). (I'm venturing into Image Consulting and re-igniting a spark from my early teen years and a career path that meandered and took me elsewhere. Two roads that diverged, humm but somehow found each other again! Thank you for the inspiration!
I volunteer at the National Zoo every Monday at the American Trail, mostly getting the food ready for the seals, sea lions, pelicans, owls, bald eagles, red wolves, river otters, and beavers. Uniform is red tee shirt (from the Zoo) and khaki slacks. My highlight so far (have been doing this 2 months) is getting to feed fish to a bald eagle! Later this summer I'm going to visit family in Iowa and to visit the Iowa State Fair (biggest in the country) and on my way home to visit the newly opened Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. My clothes will be the coolest things I can find and a hat for shade!
I’m off to beautiful Rome and Sicily very soon. I’m trying my hardest to listen to your advice on packing but the truth is I have so many different personalities going on with my clothes that I’m finding it hard to whittle down the summer clothes to those I really need without losing the personality I love! Enjoy your July 1st and 4th! X
Its always hot here in Delaware, July thru early September!!! Sooo, outdoor concerts, fireworks, picnics twilight drives tand Road Rallys through the Brandywine Valley ( Happy Canada Dayin our 1966 MGB )call for a easy breezy no clingly midi to maxi dress. Believe it or not, J Jill (and Eileen Fisher) have the perfect A-line dress with pockets!!! Cotton knit or linen...bright colors and not so, always paired with fabulous unique jewelry (Always collecting as I ponder, "What would Carla wear?") and a greater shoe! Been buying funky "Fly London" colors and Arche shoes. Happy Canada Day and Happy 4 th!
Denim forever! Denim anything! Timeless and seasonless (ok this time of the year in New York 90 degree weather it's lightweight or chambray) I just ordered a white denim and a blue denim short sleeve version of the time honored denim jacket. My uncle nicknamed me "Denim Doll" when I was in high school--about 50 years ago!! Hmmm, maybe I should be buried in denim--hey it's comfortable! lol Everybody enjoy your Summer! Go red, white and blue!
